Dear Incredible and Super Loyal Acers,
Welcome to the first long awaited newsletter from the band!
First off I need to apologize for us being so bad at communicating with you these past months!
We just been so focused on getting the tour in place so we can meet you all, getting the technology working, so we can communicate with you and finally getting a new album ready for you to enjoy, that we sometimes lacked to update you with news. In the past, our management and the record companies did all the updates, which we all know weren't perfect but at least it was some info. All I can say is: it's going to change from now on!
Thursday the 23rd of October, we launched the second step of our communication plan after the launch of our new website www.aceofbase.com in April this year: we launched our new YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/aceofbase where you can become part of the creative process with us. There's more news to come on new exciting technologies and cool features to be online soon!
There are lots of questions you've asked us and I can feel some frustrations from some of you that I fully understand and respect!
I've put up a series of your questions and our answers to them, on our new site on the new blog, yes we also have our own blog now! You'll find them here. More questions and answers will be added over time on our blog or you can pose them to us on the site
Let me try to answer your most asked question here first:
1. What happened to Linn??
This is the most common question we find on different discussion boards and apparently there have been some conflicting rumours. Linn told us as early as 1995 that she wasn't really comfortable with the fame and craziness that comes with being a member of such a world famous band. She loved the singing, but travelling around the world was difficult for her. As I think most of you must have noticed, Linn has over time faded out from the communicative part of the band (in photo sessions, videos, interviews etc) and at the launch of Flowers/Cruel Summer, Singles of the 90s and Da Capo she barely did any interviews or participated around promotion for the simple reason that she did not want to. The last 10 years she wasn't spending much time with the band and since last year she is not officially in the band anymore. To leave the band was her decision alone, we've supported her in that decision and accepted it. We had an amazing time together in the band and those memories will be there forever! She is now very happy living away from the public life, which never suited her and we are very happy for her! We are still close friends and I really love Linn, for the astonishing person she is, she will always have a special place in my heart. She has always appreciated all of you dedicated Acers and loved every moment with you, but now you finally have to let her go.
I hope my answer here and the others on our blog will give you some insights as to the how and what. We'll keep you posted on a much more regular basis from now on and don't forget to participate, contribute and invite your friends to fill our new YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/aceofbase.

WOF 2009 Single & Greatest Hits album
Last Friday the new single WOF 2009 has been officially launched on the Playground Music label as a digital download only and is for sale here at our site.
IMPORTANT: Please buy the WOF 2009 single or preorder the Greatest Hits album from us directly on aceofbase.com instead of on iTunes or any other online store, because only then 20% of the revenue! will go to the Charity "aGoodCause" of which we are official ambassadors! Our Greatest Hits album will be in the stores on the 12th of November and available online on the 14th of November) So please please , buy the single here and do some good whilst listening to our music!

A.C.E 3.0 Company
Jan Karel Kleijn and Ulf Ekberg have set up a company together earlier this year called A.C.E 3.0 that enables all the ideas these two creatives have been tossing around and have been contemplating for well over a year now, with much more to come. A.C.E 3.0 has taken care of the new aceofbase.com website, the new Ace of Base YouTube channel, our MySpace page (Thanks Raymond of Aceofbasereturns.com for maintaining that page for us great job!) A.C.E 3.0 will bring out new and cool features on aceofbase.com on a regular basis from now on! The next site update for aceofbase.com due somewhere next week will sport a new design, the updated blog, we do have a community now and YES! We'll have the long awaited and uber cool remix application for the new WOF 2009 single!! So stay tuned and check our site for news, updates and goodies regularly!!
